Our apartment house SCHÖN is a unique place, away from the hustle and bustle, in the middle of nature. Guarded by the Pitztal mountains, a wonderful hideaway, temporary home and great holiday destination.

The village of Schön is located for many activities in nature. Our house is on the edge of the forest, on the way to the Stuibenwaterfall, a small climbing rock, surrounded by mountains and peaks, the Pitzenschlucht, (nordic) walking and mountainbike trails, cross-country ski trails and varied hiking opportunities.

We will spoil you at the beginning of the day
with fresh bread.
Fresh rolls and a variety of buns, bread loaves and croissants - with or without grains.
The order for the bread service can be made on site, during your stay.
Bus stop at our house
From the bus stop, directly in front of our house,
the public transport will bring you to the
ski- and hiking areas in the Pitztal for free.

The glacier rock
Shaped by weather and water, a "remnant" from the glacial period.
It is one of the most imposing rocks in the Pitztal and makes "die Schön" to a unique place.
One mountain adventure after the other.
Whether with ski or hiking boots, or by bike.
Our house is the starting point for numerous outdoor activities.
The Stuibenwaterfall
You can hike directly from our house to the Pitztal Stuiben waterfall.
You can reach the natural spectacle and the viewing platform via a forest path and trail.
This easy "panorama hike" is one of the most beautiful hiking tips in the valley.
Things to do in Schön
History Family
SCHÖN - yesterday, today and tomorrow.
The house Schön can look back on a lively and very long history. It is already documented
around 1700, and first mentioned then. The house has been rebuilt and renewed several times.
The very small village of Schön lives from a very specific magic. Then as now.
Whenever you take a look at the Schönbühel, the glacier rock, the centuries-old spruce,
and when you see the imposing Stuiben waterfall, you know: you've come to the right place.
"Die Schön" was the home and life's work of Mina & Fani Mair.
For more than 50 years, Mina and Fani have dedicated their time and leisure to their Gasthaus Schön.
The angles and corners of the house bear their signature.
In Schön those two have created a holiday home whose fascination is unbroken.
Mina was born in 1915 as one of a total of 5 children.
She grew up in the Pitztal valley and married her Franz.
Even then, living on a farm, she offered teachers, vacationers and other travelers
a room to stay overnight. Hosting guests was her passion from a very early age.
When Mrs. Rohrhofer's Schön was for sale in 1964, Mina fulfilled her dream of having her own inn at the age of 50. Together with her husband and daughters Edith, Paula and Fani, many festivals, celebrations, balls, weddings, christenings, milestone birthdays, Christmas- and company parties were organized.
With Fani's love for cooking and gardening, she offered many guests a wonderful time at House Schön.
Under her leadership, the house was known for its good traditional cuisine
and the delicious homemade cakes that were served in the garden or lounge.
Fani Mair has dedicated her heart and soul to hospitality.
The house was not only Fani's life's work, it has always been Ines' home,
where she played outside and where she was taught to love this place.
The historic building was carefully renovated and rebuilded in 2022.
But many corners, niches, edges and the hospitality remain.
All in all, it's about the power to believe in a project.
Ines received a key from her family. The door to 6 new apartments was opened at Christmas 2022.
Ines sees herself as a maintainer and keeper.
She tries to continue the values and tradition that have been built up with a lot of heart.
The house Schön is ready for holiday guests again, even if it is differently than before.
For the future we wish that our guest feel comfortable like at home
and that we can make many beautiful holiday moments possible.
LOCATION getting there
The village "Schön" belongs to the municipality of Jerzens in the Pitztal. Our guesthouse is located directly on the valley road, with a large parking lot, when you drive from north to south on the left side.
The bus stop for skiing or hiking is located in front of the house. The drive by bus from our house to the skiing and hiking areas Hochzeiger, Rifflsee and Pitztal Glacier are free.
Your journey to us is toll-free via the Fernpass - also avalanche-safe in Winter, or via the A12 highway. Exit at Imst-Pitztal, from Imst you drive 12km on the valley-road to the village of Schön.
