Top 10 things to do in Winter

For questions and information about other highlights in the valley

and the activities mentioned, I'm happy to provide tips.

I'm also happy to help with questions about ski touring options, winter hikes,

opening hours and more.

1. Skiing Hochzeiger

Sun-drenched slopes and an impressive mountain panorama await you in the Hochzeiger family ski area.

Enjoy Pitztal hospitality, a welcoming atmosphere, and guaranteed snow with family-friendly offers.

Nine comfortable lifts and 40 kilometers of slopes

offering runs of all difficulty levels, fulfilling the wishes of skiers of all ages and abilities.

2. Skiarea Pitztal Glacier

with stop at Café 3.440

Skiing from September to April. If you are on the Pitztal Glacier, the highest ski area in Austria, you can enjoy an incredible panorama stretching from the Zugspitze through the Allgäu Alps and the Silvretta Group to the Rosengarten,

the Ötztal and Stubai Alps.

From the Cafe 3.440m, the highest in Austria,

the view is simply overwhelming.

3. Skiarea Riffelsee

The Rifflsee ski area offers an attractive range

of varied slopes for the entire family.

It impresses with its altitude and the snow safety.

On slope to the valley you have

the possibility to get to the

Pitztal Glacier station.

4. Ice-Climbing on the

Pitztal Waterfalls

They carry names like Havana, Monsterline,

Shark or Play with fire - and describe coordinates in paradise: When the imposing waterfalls of the Pitztal freeze to bizarre sculptures, ice climbers have a large selection.

With a total of 45 designated ice climbing areas of varying degrees of difficulty, the Pitztal is one of the absolute hot spots of the scene. Four ice climbing routes are nearby of our guesthouse. The routes "Stuibenfall", "Silberkönig", "Wasserleitungsfall" and "Softy".

5. Crosscountry Skiing 2.700m

If you want to be sure that there is enough snow

and the trails are perfectly prepared, then cross-country skiing in the Pitztal is the right choice. Even the Talloipe, which leads over 21.7 kilometers from the village of Wiese up to the 1743 meter high Mandarfen, offers optimal conditions due to its altitude. On top of the Pitztal Glacier at 2,760 meters, cross-country skiers can enjoy an altitude training in front of a breathtaking scenery from autumn to spring. In the ski resort Rifflsee you are on 2250m.

6. Toboggan Fun

Skiarea Hochzeiger

Fancy a toboggan evening? Then go to the Tanzalm. Every Thursday the gondola lift at the Hochzeiger is in operation after the regular skiing from 7.30 pm to 9 pm. Rent the sled at the valley station, drive up with the gondola to the middle station at 2,000m - and look forward to a thrilling adventure. About six kilometers and 550 meters in altitude, the illuminated natural toboggan run makes its way through the fairytale snowy pine forest to the starting point.

7. Pistenbully-riding Hochzeiger

They weigh twelve tons, are four and a half meters wide, have 500 horsepower – and roam out at night. Vacationers can check in right next to the driver in the snow groomer and be there live when the snow groomer ride adventure begins on the Hochzeiger mountain. This unique ride-along opportunity is offered weekly.

8. Freeride in Pitztal

Wide slopes, endless powder and undiscovered lines await freeriders and snowboarders in the Pitztal. No matter what level a rider has - on the top of Tyrol there is something for everyone. The cable cars bring you up to the Pitztal Glacier & Rifflsee skiarea.

The most beautiful and safest off-piste can be explored with certified mountain and ski guides from the Freeride Center Pitztal.

9. Pitzis First Line Hochzeiger

It can´t be more exclusive! Even before the gondola start their regular operation, you can enjoy the most beautiful runs every Wednesday on freshly groomed slopes.

Followed by a mountain breakfast in the restaurant

your day will start fantastic.

10. Skitour to the Wildspitze (3.774m)

A must-do for every ski-hiker, of course, the ascent to the highest mountain in North Tyrol, the Wildspitze with 3,774 m. The descent takes place via the Taschachferner to Mittelberg. For safety we reccomend very good mountain experience

or our local guides with the best training secrets and untouched nature included.
